How Often are you in Touch with your Opt-in’s?
August 12, 2008
In simple, how often are you contacting the contacts in your database? Getting opt-in’s are very difficult these days and we should be very careful in contacting them with a particular pitch. There are numerous businesses in the world and we are also one of the customers of many companies. how often would we expect our supplier to contact us? This should be taken care well.
For example, I’m the customer of a bank. I often getting calls for so many of their services and sometimes i loose my temper. I prefer the way of communication through email. I mark that as unread and check it whenever i get some time.
But how often would i expect my bank to contact me through email or even by calling me directly? I prefer a call once in 2 months and an email once in a month. If i get more and more sales calls and email, I’ll unsubscribe everything and work peacefully.
If b-to-b industry concerns, We need to contacts them only after 3-4 months. But it is necessary in touch with them regularly. else, they’ll totally forget about us even if there is a need.
Also, I’ll get the same emails so many time. It is unacceptable. No one would tolerate this. You should review and check the content and all the things in the emails 2 – 3 times.
This time gap would vary for each business and each industry.
Some of the contacts would remember you and they don’t want the offer that you sent last time anymore. or they might be interested in some other offers. So, you should rotate the pitch for each customer. For example, If you’ve targeted a set of customers in your pool for credit cards, the next time you can contact them for some other offers like personal loan etc., This time you can include your last time customers also. Then you can rotate it in a regular basis. This way, your customers won’t get disturbed or bored with your service and you’ll also get some good leads with that. But make sure you are giving good time gap between each offers. thats very important.
