When comparing other fields like, production, Development etc., marketing and sales are very different. Those people should have the business knowledge. If you are a marketing or sales guy, You should think not in career level but in business level. We can’t think here as “I, me, myself“. Team work plays an important role here. Eventhough there are lot of points that we should follow, we have to be aware of some important points will be surely boost our career.
The first and foremost point is,
Grow trust with your BOSS
Your boss is the one who has the capability to change your career as a blooming or demoting one. So, build trust with your boss. Building trust doesn’t mean that we should bootlick him. If we are innovative, able to implement and show better results, he would be happy.
Be a Bridge not a Wall
We shouldn’t backbite our team mates to grow faster. Better team coordination results better growth. So, Coordinate, motivate your team member.
We everyone of us know that corporate politics are common everywhere. That too, in marketing and sales, its very common. Because we are playing with numbers here. Lets neither backbite anyone not allow others to backbite us.
Think beyond the levels
We’ve seen in our company itself, client or the management wants a specific person and keeps him/her busy all the time by providing the person more works even someone in his level is there. It’s because, he has already proved him/herself with superactive works.
So, in any point proving ourself is essential.
