Launch Wave 2008 Event by Microsoft

I had a chance to attend Microsoft Launch Wave 2008 Event in Accord Metropolitan few days before. The agenda was, discussion about,

• Windows Server 2008
• SQL Server 2008
• Office Communication Server 2008
• Visual Studio 2008

Since, iLink Systems is a Gold Certified Partner, We three people from our Marketing Team got this opportunity to attend the event. The Event was great and that would be so helpful for product sales guys.

They’ve listed out some of the new features in these products one by one and some technology information.

Windows Server 2008

This session would have been useful for administrators. The highlight in windows server 2008 is, this supports PHP launguage.

Without VPN connection, we can do everything by using browser itself.

SQL Server 2008

I have some little knowledge about SQL Server since I worked with reporting services few months back. Everytime I’ll missout something in the query and I’ll ask my friend (who is a techy) for the help. We don’t need to worry about queries hereafter. We can write everything in C# itself. (Eventhough I don’t know any languages other than HTML:))

They’ve discussed lots of information technically. So, I feel its waste to sit without knowing anything basically in office communication server 2008 and visual studio 2008.

On the whole, the seminar was very useful for developers, administrators, Microsoft product sales people (except marketing guys like us). I thought of emailing one recommendation to conduct a seminar which is useful for Microsoft solution providers instead of product selling companies..
